Turn right after the bridge for about 100 metres and take a left turn up onto an embankment. This track now follows the route of the Fawdon Wagonway, At Brunton Lane continue past West Brunton Engine House and follow the footpath towards Coach Lane.
Just before you reach Coach Lane you will meet a bridle path. Turn left and cycle west parallel to the road through the Havannah Nature reserve. This ends at Brunton Lane. Turn right here and cycle along the road and through Dinnington.
Just as you are exiting Dinnington, turn right down a track opposite North Mason farm. This track leads you to a bridge that passes over the A1. The path will reach a roundabout. Cross the A1056 at the pedestrian crossing and turn left. Look out for the sign for the Farm Shop. There is a bridle path on your right at this point which runs through Killingworth, passing under two subways ending up at Killingworth Village.

At the end of Rocket way continue straight ahead along Mead Cresent. Look for another cut between two houses on your right. Pass through the cut and turn left and you will see an open area in front of you.
Head across this patch of grass and on the far side there is a small tunnel under the Metro line. The path continues over the mineral line and past the Proctor and Gamble building. You will reach the A191, next to a SAAB sales room. Turn right and you will soon be back at the entrance to the NUFC training ground.
